Sincerely, Ethel Brown Harvey

A portrait of representation in science centered around the developmental biologist Ethel Browne Harvey and her work with sea urchins. Positioning the camera lucida–a drawing device foundational to the history of biology–as both an instrument of scientific visualization and a narrative tool, the film blurs the lines among archives, fiction, scientific data, and historical recreation.

Screened at:
︎Imagine Science Film Festival
︎Science New Wave Film Festival (The Department of the History of Science at Harvard University)
︎57th Joint Atlantic Seminar for the History of Biology (Yale University)
